Montan is a 4 yrs old heeler whose owner died suddenly, She is good with female two legged variety,  but with men needs more time warming up. She's good with any dog  and plays great with  any one dog, add another and she will bow out, so we are thinking just one other dog in the home, a kind and considerate one, not a young face buster She just likes her space and her down time. Would benefit from a regular exercise routine, as she is just a tad overweight. She is a velcro girl, bonds hard and fast with people, as do most heelers, and she prefers human females.  Is good with older considerate kids. She is very affectionate and just waits for the opportunity to cuddle. Crate trained leash broke and potty trained. She was NOT a yard dog. Good for an older adult with one other dog for a companion.  Please read about the breed before you apply. They have specific needs and traits.

She is scheduled to come to us May 19th provided we have a COMMITTED adopter.  You must be able to take this dog directly off transport either at Wesley Chapel , Wildwood, or Oveido. Info will be sent to you regarding decompression , introductions, and integration into your home. We will provide info, answer questions and assist on all. Montana will be a great dog for an older couple , quiet and active with no busy work schedule and free time.. IE RETIRED!!!! Great dog for long walks, hikes, fishing buddy, traveling buddy.

Foster to adopt is a two-week period whereby you open your heart and home to a dog in need with the intentions of adopting. It doesn’t always work out that way, but this gives you a period of time for both you and dog to adjust to each other and get to know one another without the stress of an adoptive situation. If it doesn’t work out, we will find the dog another appropriate place to go within a very reasonable timeframe.

We are still in the process of updating information on Montana, more information to come shortly.
