Introducing Madame, a truly special dog who was rescued from a challenging hoarding case in Broward County. Madame's previous home life was marked by neglect and deprivation. She and the other dogs faced a lack of proper nutrition that left them severely underweight, alongside intestinal parasites. Living with limited resources and attention, Madame did not receive the care and nourishment she needed to thrive. Although she has recovered physically while in our foster care, the extended period of hunger and neglect she endured in her original home has taken it's toll on her mentally. Shockingly, Madame has shown zero aggression with her food. She will take it from your hands or a spoon after a while of warming up to you (she won't eat if she's scared). Madame is very cautious and is not quick to trust. Madame rides well in a car, and will sit still in your lap as you go along. She's non-reactive to her foster family's cat and other dogs, although she is not sure what to make of them or how to play when invited. Madame allows all handling, but is obviously nervous. She will tolerate brushing and bathing without a fuss. Madame is a quiet dog and doesn't bark or whine. She is fully crate trained. She loves being outside, despite how scaredy she is of the sights and sounds. She is always eager to go out to investigate the yard while leashed, and does well in a fenced in pen. She shouldn't be allowed to free roam in a yard just yet, as she will absolutely run and hide if given the opportunity. As Madame continues to make progress, she eagerly awaits a loving and understanding forever home. She deserves a safe and nurturing environment where she can be showered with love.
